About the beads

All of my lampwork beads are handmade by me in my home studio.  They are wound on a 3/32" mandrel and are immediately placed in my digital kiln for annealing. Annealing increases their strength and durability. The holes are carefully cleaned of bead release and are ready for your unique creations. I use Italian, German, and American boutique glass.

I am a self representing artist (M-126), a member of ISGB (International Society of Glass Beadmakers) and various other bead groups.

I am selling most of my beads on etsy right now and in the process of getting them posted there.  The link is: http://dakotasunstudios.etsy.com  Check it out ~ etsy is fun and not an auction based format for shopping.

3.31.09 It's been along time since I have updated this site.  Whew!  I do have beads up on etsy.

We have had 2 blizzards in the last week.  This time my 22 month old granddaughter Kaylee is here.  Her first 'real' snow - she loves it!  She wore us out and still wanted to stay outside.

She's sitting on a snow drift.  I am behind her waist deep in snow - and you can't even see me!  I'm still below the top of the drift!

And one more picture so you can see just how cute she is

She's not available on etsy, but my beads are - so here's the link!

And this was what was growing in my garden on 3.22.09 - the day before the first blizzard.  It was 77 that day!

I also have a blog!  Until I figure out how to link it directly onto my site I will just give you the link here:

Sometimes I actually put a note on there!

1- It is original and unique art. No one else will own or wear it.

2- You can meet the artist in a cyber way thereby understanding your purchase. You can inquire about the inspiration. Most artists are delighted to talk about their work.

3- It will outlast quilts and even painted canvases, with proper care, perhaps for millennia. Ancient Roman beads are commonly available, even on Ebay.

4- Because of its longevity, it will enhance your portfolio, and provide inheritance for your heirs. What a lovely, thoughtful gift of art to your appreciative loved ones!

5- You can wear your art, expressing your daily mood, your ensemble often secondary to your Lampwork.

6- You can request custom work for a special occasion. Most artists are honored to help with special orders.

7- It is small, so easy to store with other precious treasures.

8- Your purchase will have inexpensive shipping because it is light.

9-Your unique Beads may inspire your original designs worthy of being published, winning contests and prizes.

10- It is FUN to buy, own, give, be inspired by, and wear.
